This project is a combination of masks and decals to make the VA-35 refueler aircraft deployed aboard USS Saratoga during Desert Storm.
Combined inkjet Decals/Masks available in 1/32 – 1/48 – 1/72 scale
Intructions:
- Use the round masks for the the white round background of the tail logo. Paint white before applying the Cougar decal.
- In larger scale decals for the pilots uniforms & helmets are provided (these might not work for smaller scales unfortunately)
- “Trompe l’oeil” decals provided for the Douglas fuel tank provided (fin placement)
- Decals provided for the red intake very difficult to mask and paint. (that part should be overall white and does not require masking.

- Raygun 524 – serial 149484
- 521 is missing for lack of space but if you need it, let me know when you order and I will replace one of the existing ones. Raygun 521 – serial
- Stencils and national insignias should be taken from the kit’s decal sheet.
- Large number and large AA decals go on the top of the right wing.
- 520 italic are for the nose 520 regular are for the top of the flaps.
- Italic shorter 20 is for the top of the tail.
- Since the rudder is painted white, the red lightning should stand out well enough and would not require further masking.
- Smaller VA-35 and smaller black panther stencils are for the external fuel tanks, please check your documentation.

The artwork was done and tested with the Trumpeter 1/32 model and scaled down to 1/48 and 1/72 scale
